Description: Referral from the building department: addition to an existing commercial building

The applicant plans to add an 18 x 14 foot room to the existing office space in the strip that includes the Jefferson Valley post office. Given the modest size of the addition, the building department could have given an administrative approval for the site plan modification but instead preferred to have the planning board review the plan.

The board decided that as ABACA had no problem with the addition and that as there would be no increase in impervious surface, the addition was a minor one that would not require a public hearing. The board directed Planning Director John Tegeder to check the site and if there were no problems to send a memo to the building department.
